About the role

At ANZx our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We’re making this happen by improving our customers’ financial wellbeing so they can achieve incredible things – be it buying their home, building a business or saving for things big or small.

We are a small team of technology-focused engineers who exist within the Platform team but are focused more on traditional software development; building tools, libraries, and other solutions to make engineering life nicer for everyone!

Much of our work involves taking a Domain Driven Design approach to learn about the process and then coming up with clever ways of doing them via code.

What will your day look like
We're tech-first, so technical leads and product owners are there to support your engineering work (not the other way around)
Peer review design decisions, code, automated tests, and documentation
Ensure digital transformation solutions are delivered with the agreed timeframes and showcasing your experience in driving change.
What will you bring?

Experience writing large production applications in a compiled language; we mostly use Golang, but any understanding of code which runs on bare metal will be useful (eg. C, C++)

We do a lot of data processing and building interesting hierarchies protobuf / gRPC / swagger / openAPI3

Deep understanding of *nix systems and architecture; the tooling that we build is predominantly run in *nix containers, so any familiarity with this is helpful

So, why join us?

We’re reinventing the way we do banking, and our community of collaborative, innovative thinkers who create human centred solutions are helping us get there. We’re responding faster to changing customer requirements, focusing on the things that matter and helping people achieve incredible things – be it buying their home, building a business or saving for things big or small.

We support our people by providing a range of flexible working options so they can work in the way that best suits them. We encourage you to talk to us about your need for flexibility and any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself.

Develop your career, work in a diverse and inclusive workplace where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated and create a great place to grow, thrive and belong.
